Pieplant

Pieplant was a town that grew around a mining operation on Pieplant Creek. Founded around the 1890’s, it lasted until 1910 when the veins became too thin and transportation costs exceeded profits. The town’s name likely came from the rhubarb that grew in the area. During its most prosperous period, the mill had a capacity of 200 tons and employed 50 to 60 men who brought ore to the mill by burro train.
