Geneva City, a small ghost town in Colorado near Guanella Pass, was established in the mid-1800s due to the gold, silver, and iron mining opportunities in the area. The town had a smelter and sawmill, and local mines operated until the 1960s. Geneva City existed as a seasonal encampment only, because the harsh winters wouldn’t allow year-long residents. The log cabins of the town still stand today, along with remnants of homes, mining facilities, a boarding house, and a saloon.
