Dyersville

Dyersville, CO is a former mining town located in Summit County, off Boreas Pass. The town is named after John Lewis Dyer, a Methodist minister who travelled to Colorado in search of gold while also preaching to the miners he encountered. He built a cabin along Indiana Creek in 1881 and was later joined by other miners and merchants from the area. A mill and a railroad spur were built in 1883 to support the mining operations, but the mine closed in 1908 after being depleted. Today, some old log cabins and foundations remain.
