Calium-Thomasville

Thomasville, a settlement around the St. Louis and Colorado Smelter, was also a station on the Colorado Midland Railroad. The town was supplied with ore from the nearby Bessie mine for smelting, but the smelter closed in 1892. Thomasville later became a construction town from 1912 to 1915 for the Colorado Power Company’s power line from Glenwood Springs to Denver. Presently, Thomasville is a farming community with some of the old buildings still in use.
