Hawkinsville

Small mining camps were established on the east side of the Arkansas River, north of Granite, due to the discovery of gold ore in the 1860s. Hawkinsville was one such camp located in Hawkinsville Gulch, although it was more of a named location than an actual town. Today, only a few scattered cabin ruins remain, but during its peak, there were likely many more.
